Shevchenkivsky district court of Chernivtsi has sentenced in absentia to 10 years in jail a militant of the terrorist organization of the so-called Donetsk People’s Republic with nickname Mikha as the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) reported.

"According to the materials of the SBU counterintelligence, one of the leaders of the Skhid terrorist group has been convicted," the message says.

The secret service said that a native of Makiivka, Donetsk region, with the nickname Mikha, joined the Donetsk militant group in 2014.

He "served" there from platoon commander to deputy company commander of a motorized rifle battalion, and then - first deputy chief of staff of the regiment.

The militant directly participated in hostilities against the Armed Forces of Ukraine near the Donetsk airport, Yasynivka, Krasny Partyzan, Panteleimonivka.

He was repeatedly awarded by the occupation administration, collaborates with Russian intelligence, and travels frequently to the Russian Federation.

The court found the militant guilty of committing a crime such as participation in a terrorist group or terrorist organization and sentenced him to 10 years in prison.

Now the convict is hiding in the territory of the Donetsk region temporarily uncontrolled by the Ukrainian authorities, he is wanted.

As we reported the SBU counterintelligence officers detained a former member of the so-called Luhansk People's Republic illegal armed group. They took him in the Luhansk region. The attacker tried to enter the territory controlled by the Ukrainian authorities to registrater for pension.
