Ivan Bezyazykov spent almost two years forcefully held by pro-Russian militants

According to Svyatoslav Tseholko, press secretary of President Petro Poroshenko, the act of liberation took place thanks to the efforts of the SBU, Ukraine’s Security Service.

Colonel Ivan Bezyazykov and two more officers were captured by militants in August 2014. Back then, they were trying to get the bodies of their deceased counterparts killed during the fight near Stepanivka, Donetsk region.
