Units of Ukraine’s Armed Forces in Donbas are now slowly proceeding into the occupied areas, driving out the Russia-backed mercenaries out of the ‘grey zone’. Georgiy Tuka, the Deputy Minister for Occupied Territories said that in an interview with 112.ua news agency.
‘It is about retaking the territories referred to as the ‘grey zone’. Thus, the territories regained by the government are slowly, gradually gaining in size. However, one has to remember that all these re-gained areas are already mentioned in Minsk agreements as ‘Ukraine-controlled’ ones. And, unfortunately, we lost some of these areas almost immediately as we reclaimed them – like it was in Debaltsevo (major transport hub in Donetsk region, - 112 International). I think we’re doing the right thing, and I hope for further progress in this area,’ he said.
