On January 16, the Ukrainian side offered to create the additional subgroup on border issue during the session of the Trilateral Contact Group as Daria Olifer, the spokesperson of Ukraine’s Representative Leonid Kuchma reported on Facebook.
According to her, the Ukrainian side considers it is necessary for OSCE SMM to hold the repeated verification of the withdrawal of the heavy weapons and the places of their storage.
“The attention was drew to the non-fulfillment of Point 4 of the protocol on the results of the consultations of the Trilateral Contact Group on September 1, 2014, according to which, it is necessary to provide the effective monitoring of the Ukrainian-Russian border and verification by the OSCE with the creation of the security zone at the border areas of Ukraine and Russia,” the message said.
Olifer noted that this is why the Ukrainian side offered to create extra working group on the border issues.
As we reported, the pro-Russian militants banned OSCE representatives to enter the temporarily occupied territories once again. The patrol of the mission wanted to enter the territory near Verhnioshyrokivske, Donetsk region.
