The incident with Hungarian passports in Ukraine is based on a major issue, which is Ukraine's relations with the Hungarian community in Zakarpattia region. Pavlo Klimkin, the Foreign Minister of Ukraine, said that during his joint briefing with the Moldovan counterpart.

According to him, on Thursday, the Hungarian side will get the note from the Ukrainian government, saying that the scandalous diplomat from Berehove, Zakarpattia region, would have to leave Ukraine. Klimkin also assumed that Budapest would not send out the consul on its own initiative.

'The issue is not just with this consul; it is much more complicated. The general problem is in relations. The true issue is working with our Hungarian community since they are Ukrainian citizens. The issue is how to negotiate. We will now offer Budapest to hold consultations about how they live up - and how they violate the convention of consulate relations, giving Ukrainians Hungarian passports and concealing it,' the minister said.

Earlier, Ukrinfrom news agency published a video where a few Ukrainians were receiving Hungarian passports and owe allegiance to Hungary in the Consulate in Berehove. The Hungarian diplomat recommended not to inform the Ukrainian authorities about receiving the new documents.
