Ukraine's police in Donetsk region brought 100 militants to justice in 2018

The police officers of Donetsk region served charge papers to one hundred members of the illegal armed formations during 120 days of work in 2018. 86 of them were detained, 14 were put on the wanted list and brought to justice in absentia as the press service of the National Police reported.

It is noted that 12 militants and their accomplices were identified during the last week. The citizens of Sloviansk, Kostiantynivka, Lyman and Dobropillia in the age from 22 up to 55 are among them.

The majority of the citizens was on duty at the checkpoints of the terrorists for food and cigarettes and illegally checked the vehicles.

Earlier we reported that the criminal investigative units of Donetsk region revealed more than 2,000 militants in the region since 2015. The police detained more than 460 murderers and 500 perpetrators, who committed grave bodily injury, solved 350 armed assaults, eliminated 38 groupings, which are involved in 183 felonies and extremely grievous crimes, among which are kidnapping, tortures and murders, 2,070 militants are suspected.

Also, on April 30, the Anti-Terrorist Operation is officially replaced by the Joint Force Operation (JFO) in Donbas. As it was reported earlier, Poroshenko appointed Serhiy Nayev the Joint Force Commander
