The number of coronavirus cases in some areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions can reach 14,000. The Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Lyudmyla Denisova spoke about this in an exclusive interview with Dom TV channel.
Denisova refers to the data provided by human rights activists. According to their calculations, the self-proclaimed government of the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions lowers the real statistics by half.
"The ombudsman also said that medical institutions could not cope with the workload, there was a lack of staff. Lyudmyla Denisova asked the OSCE mission to verify this information in order to provide medicines to people living in areas not controlled by Kyiv. This issue should also be raised at a meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group," reads the message.
As we reported earlier, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine created the National Headquarters for Combating Biological Threats, including coronavirus.
As of October 21, 315,826 cases of coronavirus infection were observed in Ukraine.
