Pavlo Klimkin told Angelino Alfano about the situation in Pishchevik and Shyrokyne of Donetsk region

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Pavlo Klimkin, together with the current OSCE Chairman Angelino Alfano visited the checkpoint in Pishchevik village of Donetsk region. This was reported by the Foreign Ministry press service in Twitter.

"Pavlo Klimkin and Angelino Alfano visited the checkpoint in Pishchevik village, where up to 4,000 people cross the line of demarcation every day. The Ukrainian Foreign Minister told his Italian counterpart about the situation in this village and Shyrokyne, "the report said.

Italy presides in the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) since January 1, 2018.

As it was reported earlier Italy's Minister of Foreign Affairs and the OSCE Chairman Angelino Alfano is visiting Ukraine on January 30-31. During the visit, Foreign Ministers of Ukraine and Italy Pavlo Klimkin and Angelino Alfano will hold talks and participate in the joint Ukrainian-Italian business forum.

The situation in the conflict zone in Donbas and the occupied Crimea was the key topic for discussion between the president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and OSCE leader Angelino Alfano. Poroshenko informed Alfano about the current situation in Donbas and welcomed his decision to visit the region on Wednesday; the president thanked the Italian official for the long-standing support of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
