During a working visit to Lviv region on Wednesday, Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko passed to the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine certificates for 40 Hummer medical vehicles from the United States. This was reported by the press service of the head of state.

According to him, the cars will immediately go to Donbas.

"All forty cars will at once move from here to combat brigades in the Donbas conflict zone and will work for Ukrainian Army, Ukrainian soldier," he said.

The head of state said that with the help of a partner of Ukraine - the United States, a unique simulation center was created: thanks to modern software, combat actions of an individual serviceman are trained, as well as staff procedures on the battalion-brigade level.

In her turn, US Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch stressed that from the first day of Ukraine's independence and in recent years, after Russian aggression, the United States supports Ukraine in protecting its sovereignty.

Yovanovitch said that 40 modern vehicles equipped for medical care, which will increase the level of response and preparedness are officially transferred today.

"These ambulances are a symbol of our non-stop, dedicated support for improving Ukraine's ability to protect its most valuable resource - brave and dedicated men and women who defend the freedom of their state," she added.

During 2016-2017, the U.S. transferred 45 medical Hummer cars to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The car can carry up to four wounded on stretchers or up to six people who can sit. The patient cabin is equipped with heating and air conditioning systems, as well as oxygen supply systems for six patients.
