The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine considers the threat of large-scale offensive actions by illegal armed groups in Donbas unlikely. This assessment was voiced by the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Serhii Korniychuk, RBC reports.
"In order to carry out any offensive operations, you have to form a strike group, deploy artillery at the positions, create a stockpile of ammunition and fuel. Today, with the means of intelligence that we have, it is impossible to hide anything like it. Besides that, we have information that the enemy at the frontline is understaffed," Korniychuk said.
According to him, the recent ceasefire violations are aimed at discrediting the arrangements of the Trilateral Contact Group in order to be able to continue doing so.
As we reported earlier, on September 6-7, the Ukrainian side reported violations of the full and comprehensive ceasefire in Donbas.
Russian occupants opened fire at Ukrainian positions near Prychepylivka. One of the Ukrainian fighters lost his life in combat.
