The soldiers of Kharkiv 93rd Independent Mechanized Brigade, who are now performing combat missions in ATO area, improved their tactical position, advancing for a distance of about 1.5 km to the so-called ‘gray zone’ closer to the Bakhmut highway where they built new positions. The 93rd brigade reports this on its Facebook page.

Ukrainian forces managed to align the front line, and occupying the dominant heights allowed to better control the enemy and have favorable conditions for defense.

The advance was preceded by months of painstaking work by reconnaissance units that studied the terrain and behavior of the enemy, the peculiarities of mining of this territory, the routes of the terrorist groups' sabotage and reconnaissance groups, the message says.

"After taking preparatory measures and conducting demining (the terrorists set up a lot of mines and explosive devices, including those banned by international conventions, in a chaotic manner), the mechanized units of the brigade moved forward, and in some cases reduced the distance to enemy positions to 200 meters and settled there. A system of well-fortified and equipped support and observation posts was created," the press center noted.

The territory liberated and taken under control by Ukrainian soldiers has to be given to Ukraine according to Minsk agreements.

Earlier it was reported that militants sheled 28 times in ATO area in Donbas. The situation was relatively calm in Donetsk area, the enemy repeatedly shelled in Pryazovia.
