Ukraine's Air Force helicopter performs emergency landing, both pilots safe

Mil Mi-2 MSB, the transport helicopter of Ukraine's Air Force performed an emergency landing in Kharkiv region, northeastern Ukraine. The accident occurred at about 2.30 p.m. March 28. The Command of Ukraine's Air Force reported this on Facebook.

The pilots were conducting a training flight when they detected a malfunction in the navigation control system. They decided to land and did it successfully. 

'Thanks to the skillful actions, the crew landed on the non-rigged ground, which resulted in the damage. Both crew members are safe and sound, they suffered no injuries', the statement says.

The special commission will look into the reasons for the malfunction.

In February 2019, pilots of Ukrainian gunships, the members of UN peacekeeping mission conducted a successful operation, codename Operation Scorpion, in the Democratic Republic of Congo

The Defence Ministry said that over the past three months, the crews of Mi-24 Hind gunships completed almost 1,500 combat missions. They fought the local mercenaries who attacked the local military, UN peacekeepers and members of humanitarian organizations that combat the ongoing spell of Ebola virus.

The illegal armed units also attacked local residents.

None of the Ukrainian peacekeepers were hurt in these attacks.
