Ukrainian and Belarusian officials discussed issues of cooperation in energy sector. At the meeting in Minsk on June 6, Ukraine’s Minister of Energy and Coal Production Ihor Nasalyk offered Belarusian Deputy Minister Leonid Shenets to resume export of Ukraine’s electricity to Belarus. This, he said, would allow increase the share of nuclear generation of energy in industry, and lower the prime cost of electricity in Ukraine. Besides, the parties agreed that the power supplies will be delivered by state company “UkrInterEnergo”.
The Ukrainian side also offered to set the transit of electric power via Belarus to Lithuania.
