Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin stated that Ukraine respects the decision of the International Court, which denied the temporary measures against Russia under the Convention for the Suppression of the Financing of Terrorism.
"We respect this decision and we understand that in this case the requirements for the level of evidence are high. We recognize that the evidence to prove the conscious intention of Russia to carry out the killing of civilians appeared to be insufficien tto the court. At the same time it is important that the Russian support of the militants is not questioned. In my personal belief, whoever illegally sending regular troops, weapons and mercenaries, is fully aware that all of this could be used against the civilian persons in terrorist acts, "- he said.
Klimkin said that Ukraine will now redouble its efforts to collect the evidence needed for adjudication.
Earlier we reported that Ukraine has additional evidence for the International Court of Justice regarding the financing of terrorism in Donbas by Russia.
This was told by Deputy Foreign Minister Olena Zerkal on the air of Channel 5.
Answering the question, what other evidence can the Ukrainian side bring to ensure that this would be enough for the judges, Zerkal said: "We understand this well and now we focus our attention on these issues, which are connected with all the statements that I talked about and linked to the behavior of the LNR/DNR leaders and their statements to intimidate the population," Zerkal said.
