Ukraine to appeal to NATO due to arrival of Serbian mercenaries in Donbas

Ukraine will appeal to the NATO PA due to the arrival of the mercenaries from Serbia in Donbas and the fact that they joined the militants of Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR). Iryna Fryz, the Head of Mission of Ukraine to NATO reported this at Facebook.

‘We prepare the appeal from our mission to the NATO PA. I am sure that it is necessary to appeal to all international institutions and inform them on the shameful fact of the participation of the Serbian mercenaries in the groups of the Kremlin puppets against our state’, she wrote.

Also, Fryz expressed the confidence that the actions of the Serbian will call the proper reaction of the international community.

‘Other supporters of the ‘Russian world’, particularly, the head of the mercenaries Deian Berych or Deki will be added to the 45 criminal proceeding against the Serbian mercenaries that fight in Donbas opened by the Serbian authorities’, Fryz concluded.

As we reported earlier the group of the mercenaries from Serbia arrived in occupied Donbas and joined the joins the militants of Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) as the press service of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported. The headcount of the group is not reported.

In recent interviews with Serbian media, Ukraine's Ambassador to Serbia Alexander Alexandrovich said that Russia is using Serbia to destabilize the situation in the region, in particular, encouraging separatism in Bosnia and trying to influence Macedonia. The ambassador also mentioned the Serbian mercenaries fighting on the side of the Russian armed formations in Donbas.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia accused the Ukrainian ambassador in the intentions to harm the friendly relations between Moscow and Belgrade. Alexandrovych can be expelled out from Serbia and called persona non-grata. 

Later Foreign Minister of Ukraine called Alexandrovych for consultation. It was decided that Ukraine will appeal to the European friends and partners due to the issue of the Serbian mercenaries and ties to occupied Crimea.

Later Aleksandar Vucic, the President of Serbia claimed that it is necessary to solve the diplomatic conflict with Ukraine and continue to develop the friendly relation between the countries.
