Representative of Ukraine at the political subgroup in the Trilateral Contact Group Andriy Kostin stated that the Verkhovna Rada agreed to include Steinmeier formula in the law on the special status of Donbas, as RBK-Ukraine reported.
“We agreed that Steinmeier formula would be included in the law on the special status of Donbas,” Kostin said.
According to him, the talks are now focused on which articles of this law should be amended to enable its work as a matter of law.
Earlier, Representative of particular areas of Donetsk region Serhiy Harmash stated that the amendments to the bill on the special status of particular areas of Donbas, which provide the implementation of Steinmeier formula, were prepared by the President’s Office.
On September 11, the administration of Russian President Vladimir Putin announced Ukraine's agreement to amend the decree on local elections in the country after the Normandy Four talks in Berlin.
Later, Head of the President’s Office Andriy Yermak said that at a meeting of political advisers to the leaders of the Normandy Four in Berlin, Ukraine did not promise to change the resolution on local elections, but only informed about the Verkhovna Rada's intention to consider the relevant document.
