Ukrainian side needs to decide whether the Minsk format further addresses the issue of conflict in the Donbas region. This statement was made by the representative of Ukraine in the Trilateral Contact Group, the second President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma, Interfax-Ukraine reports.
"There is nothing left, except to put the question bluntly in Minsk on Wednesday: Guys, let us say that we are unable to solve such problems, or what? I'm sorry, but Ukraine has to stop playing at giveaway", said Kuchma.
According to the ex-president, Russia-backed militants continue to violate the Minsk agreements, and this situation needs to be shown to the world, first of all, for the leaders of Germany and France, which are major in Normandy format, so that they no longer occupy a peacekeeping position.
Recall, today was expected a video conference of the Trilateral contact group participants. However, it did not take place due to denial of the representatives of the individual areas of the Donetsk region.
The Ukrainian side continues to insist on holding such a meeting in a video conference format. If the video conference will not take place, Ukraine will raise the issue of ceasefire violation by the militants as a key problem at a meeting of the Trilateral contact group in Minsk on October 5, 2016.
