In the near future, Ukraine plans to conclude a large contract with the UK for the supply of lethal weapons. Ukrainian Ambassador to UK Vadym Prystaiko stated this in an interview with Europeiska Pravda.
"The British track is unique. It is no longer the European Union or the United States. It is now becoming more and more important, and not only for Ukraine. It is our very important security partner, from which I hope we will be able to get real military assistance, assistance in the development of the Armed Forces," Prystaiko said.
According to him, not only the acquisition but also the production of lethal weapons in Ukraine is being discussed.
Since 2014, the UK has been supplying military assistance to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. At the same time, the previous governments of the United Kingdom opposed the supply of lethal weapons to Ukraine.
The agreement was reached to clear up the mines at 20 areas near the front line and hold the disengagement of forces in four new places in Donbas. Such decisions were made during the extra video-session of the Trilateral Contact Group.
