The results of the DNA examination showed that the body of the soldier, who was recently transferred to the territory controlled by the government of Ukraine, is the dead sergeant Mykola Ilin. This was reported by the press service of JFO HQ.
"Preparations are underway for a ritual honoring the fallen Ukrainian hero. Farewell to the medic will take place in Kyiv on July 22," the statement said.
It is reported that the Ilin was a citizen of Estonia who served in the military unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on legal grounds.
As we reported earlier, on June 13, the Ukrainian side and Russian militants agreed to hold the ceasefire as Ukrainian troops were going to evacuate the body of the deceased commander of the reconnaissance force of the 93rd Detached Mechanized Brigade Dmytro Krasnohrud.
The enemy breached the deal and opened fire from heavy machine guns. A combat medic who tried to get the body of his comrade was killed in action himself.
Prosecution authorities of Donetsk region began the pre-trial investigation on the fact of the murder.
