Ukraine considers the possibility to deploy the peacekeeping mission in Donbas as Interfax-Ukraine reported citing Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko.
The deployment of the peacekeeping mission is considered if Donbas Conflict will not be settled by Minsk Agreements.
“This is our offer to try to solve our situation on the basis of the concluded Minsk Agreements. If we do not succeed and we face the complete unwillingness to move further, one of the variants of other steps is the peacekeeping mission,” Prystaiko said.
Besides, he added that only in rear cases it was able to solve the conflict by the peacekeeping missions and mostly “they lead to the frozen conflict for dozens of years”.
Earlier we reported that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky is afraid to deploy the peacekeeping mission in Donbas as it may provoke the development of Abkhazia and Transnistria scenario.
The deployment of the UN peacekeepers in Donbas will not be considered at the UN Security Council until the decision in Normandy or Minsk formats is ready.
