Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry decisively protests against Russia bringing the 71st humanitarian convoy to the occupied area of Donbas. This is mentioned in the message on the authority’s website.

‘The import of ‘humanitarian aid’ was performed in the breach of norms and principles of the international law – specifically, those concerning the inviolability of Ukraine’s state border and the cargo control by the International Committee of the Red Cross’, the message says.

The Ministry demands that Russia stop such illegal actions and adhere to the international norms and the Ukrainian law.

As is known, Russia has been sending ‘humanitarian convoys’ to the occupied Donbas since summer 2014 – in breach of Ukrainian and international norms of law. Because convoys cross the border section controlled by Russia-backed militants, neither Ukraine’s border guards nor OSCE observers can check the contents.

Ukraine’s defense ministry marks that, as convoys reach the occupied areas of Donbas, the enemy troops intensify their attacks.
