Closing of the Donetsk Filtration Station raises concern. The Headquarters of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is sure that the situation was staged and provoked by the leaders of the so-called Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republic as it is reported on Facebook.
‘Ukraine Armed Forces Headquarters is sure that the situation around the Donetsk Filtration Station was staged and provoked on purpose by the leaders of the Russian occupation authority on the eve of the meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group on Donbas in Minsk to discredit Ukraine’s Armed Forces once more and have the additional leverage at the Ukrainian side of the Minsk talks’, the message said.
It is also noted that the citizens of Avdiivka, Krasnohorivka, Verkhnyotoretske, Donetsk and Yasynuvata can be left without drinking water due to the closing of the Donetsk Filtration Station.
‘The closing of this station for a long period of time can cause serious humanitarian consequences and to destabilize the situation in the region even more’, the Headquarters noted.
The Headquarters urged the representatives of the international humanitarian organizations to promote the rapid solution of the closing of the Donetsk Filtration Station and to not allow the worsening of the humanitarian situation in the region.
At the moment, the water is supplied to Avdiivka by its own accord. The rescuers are ready to supply water to the city if the Donetsk Filtration Station will not begin to work in the nearest time. Veronika Bakhal, the spokeswoman of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Donetsk region reported this as 112 Ukraine broadcasted.
‘At the moment, the water is supplied to Avdiivka by its own accord. There is a reservoir by the capacity of 4, 000 cubic meters in Avdiivka and it is situated in the part of the city where the amount of the drinking water will be enough for 4 days’, she said.
As we reported the militants shelled the convoy of the filtration station's workers. Five workers suffered, one of them is in the serious condition.
On April 18, has stopped its work and the supply of the drinking water was stooped to Avdiivka, partially to Donetsk and Yasynuvata, Chervony Partyzan, Kruta Balka and Verkhnyotoretske villages.
