Ukraine asks for security guarantees to restore mobile connection in occupied Donbas

The Ukrainian side announced the demand for the security guarantees to repair 17 objects for the restoration of the mobile connection in occupied Donbas at the meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group.  Darka Olifer, the spokeswoman of Leonid Kuchma, the representative of Ukraine reported on Facebook.

'Ukrainian side demands the security guarantees to restore the mobile connection in the territory of occupied Donbas. Totally, we need to repair 17 objects, however, any of them is repaired due to the absence of the ceasefire regime', Olifer reported.

The problems with the mobile network were first reported in the afternoon of January 11; militants of the so-called DPR said it was due to a sabotage act committed by Ukrainian troops. As of Monday morning, the communication in Talove is still down.'

The 'Vodafone' Company claimed that they cannot restore the communication for Luhansk People's Republic that was shut off due to the cable breakdown.

As we reported the so-called Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) threatened to take the mobile network of the ‘Vodafone-Ukraine’ under the external control. The Joint Center for Control and Coordination (JCCC) accepted the appeal of 'Vodafone-Ukraine' Company on the access to the damaged cable in occupied territories of Donbas on January 16.
