Since Sunday morning, pro-Kremlin mercenaries opened fire in Donbas combat area 16 times. Two Ukrainian servicemen sustained injuries in action, the press service of the Defense Ministry reported.
The enemy continues to use the Minsk-banned weapons. In particular, the militants fired 82 mm mortars in Krymske, Luhansk region. 82 mm mines also hit the Ukrainian positions near Vodyane.
The mercenaries opened fire from a BMP-1 infantry fighting vehicle, grenade launchers, heavy machine guns and small arms; the skirmishes were observed in Novotroitske, Pisky, Avdiivka, Slavne, Taramchuk, Starohnativka, Kamyanka, Chermalyk, Pavlopol, Lebedynske and Vodyane.
The Ukrainian intelligence reports that eight Russian occupants were killed and three wounded.
As of 7 a.m. December 17, the enemy attacked Ukrainian positions near Hnutove in Mariupol sector, Donetsk region.
