Two Ukrainian border guards to be released within announced exchange

Ukrainian border guards Ihor Dziubak and Bohdan Martson will return from the Russian Federation within the announced by the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko hostage exchange. This was reported by Hromadske with reference to its sources.

In response, Ukraine will hand over to Russia detained in the Kherson region two FSB officers - Vladimir Kuznetsov and Askar Kulub.

As it was reported earlier Petro Poroshenko announced that two hostages illegally kept in Russia will be returned to Ukraine till the end of this week.

“I can say, that till the end of this year we will return back home two more of our hostages. It has been discussed already, the place and the date. I think it will not go wrong. This is my top priority and I deal with this myself. I can say that in Russia decisions concerning each are made on the highest level,” the President said.

Ihor Dziubak and Bohdan Martson, the border guards of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine who were abducted in Sumy region in October 2017 were transferred to Bryansk. Mariana Betsa, the spokeswoman of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry. According to Betsa, the consul succeeded to visit them only once.

Oleg Slobodyan, the spokesperson of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reported that the court session that should take place in February was postponed for one month.
