Two provocative attacks occurred in Donbas on August 2. According to Ukrainian Defense Ministry, the skirmishes took place near Pivdenne and Krasnohorivka.

The time gap between the two attacks made just 15 minutes.

Ukrainian troops did not return fire; no casualties were observed against Ukrainian soldiers. 

Observers of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) in Donbas recorded 225 violations of the ceasefire after it entered into force on 27 July. This is stated in the daily report of the mission.

"From 00:01 July 27 to the end of the reporting period, the mission recorded 225 ceasefire violations," the report says.

It also notes that the SMM recorded nine ceasefire violations in Donetsk region (compared to 1 in the previous reporting period) and 93 ceasefire violations in Luhansk region (where no violations were recorded in the previous reporting period). 

On July 22, a regular meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group was held in the format of a videoconference, which resulted in the achievement of agreements on a full and comprehensive ceasefire on the contact line from 00:01 on July 27.
