On Saturday, January 5, two people died at the checkpoints in Stanytsia Luhanska and Mayorske in Donbas. This is reported by the Ukrainian side of the JCCC, the press center of the Joint Forces operation reports.

"A 65-year-old man lost consciousness when filling in the documents for the transition to areas under control of Ukraine on January 5, at 09:45 am, in the service area on Stanytsia Luhanska checkpoint. Ukrainian border guards immediately called the Red Cross medical representative and the ambulance. Unfortunately, the doctors confirmed the death of the man. The preliminary diagnosis was cardiac arrest," the report said.

Earlier we reported that militants in Donbas prohibit OSCE mission observers from entering objects and territories they control. This is reported by the JFO headquarters on Facebook, citing information from the Ukrainian side of the Joint Coordination and Control Centre.

“The Ukrainian side of the JCCC informs that the armed forces of the Russian Federation and their mercenaries in Donbas prohibit OSCE SMM observers from entering the objects and territories controlled by them, thereby hindering the mission’s activities,” the report said.

According to the report of the OSCE mission yesterday, the facts of the restriction of freedom of movement, the prohibition of access and other obstacles were reported.

In particular, at a checkpoint near Izvarino, one of the militants ordered the mission patrol to leave the area.

At the checkpoint located at the northern entrance to Novoazovsk, five militants did not allow the mission patrol to pass to the center of the city and to the east.

“The Ukrainian side of the JCCC considers unacceptable such aggressive actions of the Russian occupation forces, which have acquired a systemic nature and lead to an escalation of tension both on the line of demarcation and generally in the area of the Joint forces operation,” the statement said.
