Two former Donbas militants surrender to law enforcers

Two former mercenaries of the so-called Donetsk People’s Republic appealed to Kramatorsk police with a confession that in 2014 they were serving on the terrorist checkpoints in Kramatorsk, as the press office of National Police reported.

“The men reported that in May 2014, they were serving in the ranks of the so-called “DNR”. Both of them were illegally implementing access control regime near Stankostroy in Kramatorsk. They were responsible for the control of the vehicles and checking of the documents of drivers and passengers. Coins and foodstuff – as a payment,” the police reports.

After Kramatorsk was liberated, former officers were hiding their involvement with the work of the terrorists. Yet, they have surrendered soon.

The press office informed that a criminal proceeding under the article on creating illegal military or armed formations was opened. But if the investigation does not prove they were committing felonies, the men will be released from criminal liability.
