The Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) will exert every effort to provide the indefinite ceasefire regime in Donbas. Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office in TCG Martin Sajdik claimed this as BELTA reported.
According to him, there are fewer violations of the truce then before the beginning of the school year.
‘Thanks to the last and the harvest ceasefire since June the number of the victims among the civilians stably and notably decreases. According to the UN, the number of the victims among the civilians in September was the lowest for all time of the conflict: two killed and 16 injured people’, Sajdik reported.
He assured that the OSCE SMM is very important for the peaceful settlement of the conflict and it is necessary to avoid the debates that cast doubts on constructiveness of the mission’s work.
The efforts of both sides are important in this issue. ‘The work of the OSCE SMM is the irreplaceable part of the peaceful settlement of the conflict. It is important to avoid the debates that cast doubts on reliability and constructiveness of the mission’s work’, he said.
According to Sajdik, security subgroup discussed the issue of the observance of the ceasefire regime, disengagement of the forces and equipment, withdrawal of the heavy weapons, defense of the objects of the civilian infrastructure and creation of the safe zones on October 4.
The next meeting of the TCG will take place on October 18.
