The first day of the new school year in the Donbas conflict zone was relatively calm. Since midnight, the militants made eight provocative attacks without using mortars or other types of heavy weaponry, according to the Ukrainian Army HQ on Facebook.
The situation remains most tense in Donetsk sector.
“During the night and in the morning, the militants attacked our positions in Avdiivka industrial zone three times, using small arms. Ukrainian strongholfd near Butovka mine and Zaitseve were also attacked,” the HQ inform.
In Luhansk sector, Russia-backed terrorists used grenade launchers near Krymske and Zhovte.
In Mariupool sector the cease fire was abided by.
The HQ adds that the new stage of the cease fire, due to which the militant activity has decreased, allowed thousands of Donbas habitants to go to schools and universities today.
As it was reported earlier, the Trilateral Contact Group agreed on new cease fire in Donbas starting August 25, before the school year began.
