Underscoring the U.S. concern with the rising violence in eastern Ukraine, the U.S. Secretary Rex Tillerson requested that Russia return its representatives to the Joint Center on Coordination and Control and lower the level of violence. This was reported on the website of the U.S. Department of State.
Tillerson and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov spoke by phone on Tuesday.
The officials also discussed the danger of the North Korean nuclear missile program.
As it was reported earlier Angela Merkel, the Chancellor of Germany and Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia agreed to continue the discussion of the issues necessary to restore the fully realized work of the Joint Center for Control and Coordination (JCCC) in Donbas.
The Joint Center for Control and Coordination is a group that monitors compliance with the Minsk Protocol, which includes representatives of the Ukrainian and Russian sides, as well as the fighters of the “LNR” and “DNR” militants. The Center started its work on September 26, 2014, in Soledar, Donetsk region.
