Over the past 24 hours, Russian occupants attacked Ukrainian positions in Donbas eight times. The Joint Forces Operation HQ reported that on July 17.
The Russian invaders opened fire in Opytne, Novotroitske, Verkhnyotoretske, Krasnohorivka, Lebedynske, Mykolaivka (all in Donetsk region), Krymske and Novoluhanske (Luhansk region). The enemy used a wide range of weaponry, including small arms, heavy machine guns, grenade launchers, anti-tank missile launchers and mortars of various calibers.
The Ukrainian forces suffered no casualties over the said period.
Since the beginning of the day, pro-Kremlin armed gangs attacked Ukrainian positions three times.
Earlier on July 16, two men who previously served with the so-called Donetsk People's Republic surrendered to Ukraine's law enforcers.
Recently, six EU member countries, Belgium, France, Germany, Poland, Estonia and Great Britain demanded that Russia set Ukrainian sailors free. It should also stop contributing to the armed conflict in eastern Ukraine. The respective statement was made after the UN Security Council meeting called by Russia, as the Russian side convened the session to discuss Ukraine's language law.
