Vitaliy Masol, ex-Head of Council of Ministers of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialistic Republic and the third Prime Minister of Ukraine died at the age of 90, as Arsen Didur, Deputy Head of Chernihiv Regional Council, said.

“Sad news. Vitaliy Masol died at the age of 90. He was a prominent public figure and a politician, a wise, highly professional and generous person, whom I knew personally, whom I respected. Many experts consider the honorary citizen of Chernihiv region, a politician, who headed the government of two states – USSR and Ukraine – the most professional executive of our state. Sincere condolences to Vitaly’s relatives. Eternal memory,” the official wrote.

Vitaliy Masol was born on November 14, 1928 in Chernihiv region. He headed the government twice: USSR in 1987-1990 and in independent Ukraine – 1994-1995. He was also the people’s deputy of Council of Ministers of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialistic Republic of the 9-11 callings, and of the USSR (1989-1991).
