Stanytsia Luhanska checkpoint will be operating one hour longer starting today, January 10. The working hours, thus, will be from 7:00 to 17:00. The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reported this on Wednesday.
"Citizens who cross the line of demarcation at Stanytsia Luhanska checkpoint should pay attention that from January 10 the checkpoint will work from 7:00 to 17:00," the report said.
It is noted that Ukraine’s Army headquarters decided this.
It is aimed at reducing social tensions among residents of towns and villages of the Luhansk region and providing favorable conditions for crossing the line of demarcation.
The transition of the checkpoint work to wintertime was made to ensure the safety of the civilian population, which crosses the line of demarcation, because there are much fewer militants’ attacks during the daylight hours.
As it was reported earlier, in summer this checkpoint worked from 6:00 to 20:00, and in autumn - from 8:00 to 17:00.
