Gun spotter of Russia-backed militants sentenced to 8 years in jail in Mariinka

The Krasnoarmiisk District Court of Donetsk Region recognized the 41-years old citizen of Mariinka who directed the artillery fire of the Russia-backed militants to be guilty of taking part in the terroristic group. He is sentenced to 8 years in prison. The press center of the Donetsk Region reported this. 

‘Thanks to the official prosecution, that was supported by the prosecutor of the Krasnoarmiisk Regional Prosecutor’s Office, the spotter is sentenced to 8 years in jail’, the press service reports.

The man began to work on his own initiative with the Russia-backed militants in January 2015. He pursued the gathering and passing of the information to the terrorists about the stationing, the number, routes of movement of the soldiers and military equipment of the Ukrainian Army Forces and other military formations of Ukraine that take part in the Donbas conflict in Mariinka and Mariinka Region. 

‘Russia-backed militants are on the territory of Donetsk Region that is temporary uncontrolled by Ukraine. They used the received data for shellings of the Ukrainian locations’, the Regional Prosecutor’s Office noticed.
