Soldier of 79th Air Assault Brigade dies in Donbas

A 22-year-old soldier, a gunner of the 79th Air Assault Brigade Yan Putsulay died from severe injury on Wednesday, January 31. This was reported on the brigade’s Facebook page.

"The serviceman was seriously injured during the combat mission, as a result of a two-sided battle on the combat positions near the Avdiivka village of Donetsk region. The serviceman was born in Mykolaiv region, Kalabatyne village. In August, he turned 22 years old," the report said.

It is noted that he was on military contract service since 2016, and from the end of September of 2017 he served in a separate brigade of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces in Mykolaiv.

As it was reported earlier since midnight on January 31, the Russian-occupational forces continued violating the cease-fire in the Donbas conflict zone. In Donetsk sector, the enemy used heavy machine guns and small arms to attack the Ukrainian defenders on the outskirts of Avdiivka. Near the Azov sea, the militants used small arms for provocations near Pavlopil. One Ukrainian soldier died in one of the enemy attacks.
