Slovakia accuses its citizen of fighting at militant’s side in Donbas conflict first time ever

He might be imprisoned from two up to eight years

A Slovakian citizen was charged with the participation in the combat actions in Donbas at the side of the illegal armed formations for the first time, as the police of Slovakia reported.

“It is the first case when a citizen of the Republic of Slovakia is charged with the active participation within the armed military conflict in Ukraine against the Army of Ukraine,” the police said.

Accused Mario R. “has been actively participating in the combat activity of the organized armed groups during the war at the territory of another state, particularly Donetsk region in Donbas” since July 2015 until these days.

According to the police, he might be imprisoned from two up to eight years.

Earlier we reported that a member of the Hungarian political party Jobbik and representative of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe Tamás Samu Gergő visited the Donbas occupied territories of Ukraine to observe the “elections” held by militants.
