Six Ukrainian servicemen die, nine get injured in Donbas since ceasefire began, - General Staff

Since the ceasefire began in Donbas on July 21, six soldiers dies, none were – got injured, as the Head of Armed Forces General Staff Ruslan Khomchak said at the joint briefing with Volodymyr Zelensky.

“Since the ceasefire started on July 21, six servicemen died in Joint Forces Operation zone, nine sustained injuries. Four servicemen died yesterday. It was an attack performed from grenade launcher with 82mm shell of the mortar. It hit the trench where the servicemen of Armed Forces were conducting engineering equipment of their positions,” Khomchak said.

The Head of the General Staff noted that the Armed Forces were observing ceasefire announced on July 21.

“We know the number of attacks, the statistics, it decreased. Attacks of indirect nature mainly, the opposite side reduced the number of attacks, but there are isolated incidents, near Pavlopil mainly, near Svitlodarsk, where the attacks sometimes have targeted nature,” Khomchak said.

On August 6, the militants attacked the Ukrainian positions near Pavlopil in Donbas combat zone. Four Ukrainian servicemen died as a result. It was reported that during the attack the servicemen were carrying out engineering works.
