Separatists want to get 700 hostages in exchange for 50 people released on their part. This was reported by representative of Ukraine in the humanitarian subgroup, vice speaker Iryna Gerashchenko on her Facebook page, according to the results of the Trilateral contact group meeting in Minsk.
"Despite the appeal by the leaders of the Normandy format and Trilateral Contact Group to release hostages before the New Year and a gesture of goodwill on the part of the Ukrainian side to transfer 15 people to separatists, the process of hostage release is still blocked. And now they are pushing for an immediate amnesty again, demanding 700 people in exchange for about 50," Gerashchenko said.
As it was reported earlier, the first meeting of the Trilateral contact group on the settlement of the situation in the Donbas region in 2017 began in Minsk.
