Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) started investigation regarding the explosion of OSCE SMM vehicle in Luhansk region as terrorist act. This was reported by the press service of prosecutor’s office in Luhansk region.
Security Service of Ukraine opened criminal proceeding in the case under part 3 of Article 258 (terrorist act leading to person’s death). It was also noted the investigation regarding terrorist act is controlled by region’s prosecutor.
It is noteworthy that sanction of Article 258, part 3 provides for a penalty of imprisonment for a term from 10 to 15 years or life imprisonment with or without confiscation of property.
As 112 International reported, the SMM OSCE’s vehicle went on a land mine nearby the Prishib village, Luhansk region on April 23. One of the OSCE’s monitors perished in the accident and another two were hurt. According to the Ukrainian side of JCCC, during the mentioned period the cease-fire regime was observed by both the Ukrainian government troops and the Russia-backed militants.
