The terrorist received Russian citizenship under a simplified procedure in 2014

Security Service detained former “DNR” militant who was spying for Russian special forces in ATO area. This was reported by the press service of the SBU.

“Donbas native in 2014 joined one of terrorists’ armed gangs. Being afraid of responsibility for his illegal activities, he had departed for Russia, where received Russian citizenship according to streamlined proceedings,” the press service reported.

Unable to enter Russian army due to bad health, the offender returned to the temporarily occupied territories in 2017. Here he also tried to join the illegal armed groups, but received a more advantageous offer from the Russian special forces - to spy for “good” money against his own homeland.

“SBU officers detained a spy-militant when he arrived in Toretsk of Donetsk region, with the task of gathering information that should have harmed the forces of the ATO,” the message says.

Earlier it was reported that SBU found two arms caches in ATO area. Law enforcers seized grenade launchers and cartridges.
