Ukrainian MP Nadiya Savchenko, formerly the officer of Ukraine’s Air Force, secretly visited Minsk on December 7 for a behind-the-closed-doors meeting with leaders of pro-Kremlin separatists. A source of outlet reported that.

The former political prisoner who spent almost two years in detention by pro-Russian militants, then in Russian prison, had a several hours-long conversation with leaders of DPR and LPR, the non-recognized ‘republics’ of Donbas. The very meeting was organized by Russia’s FSB, federal security service.

A source of said that the sides talked through ways to ‘put pressure on Ukrainian government’ to start dialogue with the militants. Previously, Savchenko repeatedly offered that Kyiv start the dialogue with DPR/LPR representatives in exchange for release of all Ukrainian POWS from captivity of pro-Russian rebels. That caused quite a mixed reaction within the Ukrainian society.
