Russian writer Zakhar Prilepin has taken the position of the deputy commander of battalion on work with “DPR” personnel since October 2016. This was reported by Dozhd.

Answering if he had taken part in fighting as a part of battalion, he said that “political director is not a nursery teacher. If you understand what you’re asking about, - being the deputy commander of the battalion, I cannot avoid participating in anything. The battalion is stationed at the frontline and accomplishes military tasks,” Prilepin explained.

In his interview to “Komsomolska Pravda” Prilepin declared that the ultimate goal of the war in Donbas is Kyiv.

“Kyiv is the ultimate goal. We won’t hide it… Kyiv is a Russian city. Russian Ukrainian city. Our duty is minor. The higher ups will decide,” the writer said.

During the interview it became known that one of the sub units of the battalion is stationed near Pikuzy (earlier Kominternove) which is only 800 meters away from Ukrainian positions.

“The sub unit has already been formed on my initiative and we will strive to ride into any nearby town that we had abandoned earlier on a white horse,” Prilepin said.

Zakhar Prilepin worked in Russian Special Police Force 20 years ago and participated in missions in Chechnya and Dagestan.

He has been serving as an advisor to the militants’ leader Alexander Zakharchenko since 2015.

Earlier it was reported that a court has sentenced “LPR” militant for three years of imprisonment. In July 2014, when Ukrainian Army liberated Sievierodonetsk and Lysychansk, he was fighting against it.
