Russian MP offers to abolish acts on transfer of Crimea to Ukraine

Konstantin Zatulin, the MP of the State Duma of Russia claimed that Russian should abolish the acts on the transfer of Crimea to Ukraine in 1954 as TASS reported.

'We as the legislative body in the county that is the successor and descendant of the Soviet Union should make the decision on the abolishment of the acts of 1954. Because we are tired to hear that we took away someone's land and someone's sea in 2014', Zatulin claimed.

Crimea was transferred to Ukraine at the instigation of Nikita Khrushchev, the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union in 1954.

Crimea was annexed by Russia by way of the illegal referendum that was held at the peninsula in March 2014. Earlier the Russian militaries that stayed there without any marking conquered all strategic military objects and building of the force and state bodies. The results of the referendum were not recognized by Ukraine and the world society. The number of the European and world countries, including Ukraine imposed the economic sanctions against Russia.
