Pavlo Klimkin, the Foreign Minister of Ukraine claimed that the occupation administration of pro-Russian militants does not allow to perform the repair works of the damaged equipment of the Ukrainian mobile connection in Donetsk regions due to the Russian mobile network operator that monopolized the market. He claimed this at the joint press conference with Anders Samuelsen, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Denmark as Unian reported.
‘We attempt to save the mobile connections during the last months for the people to use it. We did not get any permission for the safe repair of the mobile connection. Do you know why? Because the occupation administration brought there some Russian provider and the mobile phone cards are sold in five-seven times more than the usual services of the Ukrainian mobile network operator’, the minister said.
‘Everything that separates Donbas from Ukraine leads to occupied Donbas to nowhere. It does not lead it to Russia. It leads to the occupied Donbas to nowhere and the fact that there is a mafia formation that earns by the traffics, beginning from the coal and everything other that is the property of Ukraine and Ukrainian companies will be spotted. It is obligatory to pay for everything’, Klimkin is sure.
The problems with the mobile network were first reported in the afternoon of January 11; militants of the so-called DPR said it was due to a sabotage act committed by Ukrainian troops. As of Monday morning, the communication in Talove is still down.'
The 'Vodafone' Company claimed that they cannot restore the communication for Luhansk People's Republic that was shut off due to the cable breakdown.
As we reported the so-called Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) threatened to take the mobile network of the ‘Vodafone-Ukraine’ under the external control. The Joint Center for Control and Coordination (JCCC) accepted the appeal of 'Vodafone-Ukraine' Company on the access to the damaged cable in occupied territories of Donbas on January 16.
