Representatives of the Russian Federation in the Joint Center for Control and Coordination (JCCC) could not pass through the Mayorsk checkpoint in Donetsk region because of militants’ shelling in Novoluhansk. Ukrainian side of the JCCC said this, as the Ukraine’s Army headquarters press center reports in Facebook.
As it is noted, at the time when the shelling began, Russian side of the JCCC were to cross the line of demarcation through the Mayorsk checkpoint located near the area of the attack.
"Taking in account the situation along the line of demarcation, as well as complying with the obligations to ensure the security of Russian military servicemen from the JCCC, the Ukrainian side of the JCCC was had to stop crossing the checkpoint and postpone it till the next day," the report said.
It is also reported that 37 single-story and two-story houses, 10 five-story buildings were damaged during shelling, the shells hit the school, kindergarten and a local outpatient clinic, the gas pipeline was also partially damaged.
As it was reported earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry said that because of Kyiv's obstruction to the work of the Russian soldiers in the JCCC, they will leave the territory of Ukraine on December 19.
This decision was made in connection with the new order of entry to Ukraine and the introduction of a duty to inform of the intention to visit the country in advance in electronic form for Russian citizens scheduled for January 1, 2018.
In its turn Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine is indignant at the unilateral decision of Russia to withdraw the military of Russian forces from the Joint Center of Control and Coordination.
‘We treat this unprecedented step of Russia as another provocation that substantially disrupts the Minsk Agreements and the striving to relieve of any responsibility for the consequences of the military aggression against our state. Such step proves one more time that Moscow perseveres in its attempts to force Ukraine and the international partners to begin a direct dialogue with the militants of the illegal military formations that act at the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine under the total control and resounding support of Russia’, the message said.
