Russian contract soldier captured by Ukrainian Armed Forces in Luhansk region

On June 24 Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) forces in Luhansk region captured Russian military officer Victor Ageev, who was drafted in Altai Krai and served under a contract after that. This was reported by Russian BBC service referring to the sources in Ukrainian Defense Ministry and 93rd separate mechanized brigade.

It is informed that reconnaissance scout Victor Ageev, born in 1995, was taken prisoner on June 24 in the village Zhelobok of the Slavyanoserbsky area of Luhansk region as a result of clashes between the fighters of 93rd separate mechanized brigade and the so-called "reconnaissance unit of the 4th mechanized brigade of the 2nd army corps" of the self-proclaimed "Luhansk People’s Republic".

The agency provides a statement of the commander of 93rd brigade saying that Ukrainian military killed the commander of "LPR subversion and reconnaissance group". Beyond that, Ukrainian Armed Forces have captured four militants, including 22-year old Russian citizen from Altai Krai. It is noted that it was Victor Ageev, adding the photo of detainee’s passport and military service card, published on Facebook by ICTV journalist.

Earlier it was reported that Ukrainian military officers neutralized reconnaissance and sabotage enemy group in Anti-Terrorist Operation zone.
