According to the government, Russia spends about $ 5 billion a year to maintain the occupied regions of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister for Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories Oleksiy Reznikov told this in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.

"According to our information, these figures are, of course, approximate - up to $ 1.3 billion is spent on the maintenance of only the civilian part. First of all, these are state employees. And about $ 3.7 billion are spent on the war. That is, about $ 5 billion ... per year, according to our assessment, the cost of maintaining the occupied territory of Ukrainian Donbas to the Kremlin is without the Crimea," he said.
