“Ukraine is interested in peace the most because the war is in our territory. But on the way to peace, two sides should move and the key steps should be made by Russia that controls occupied territories of Ukraine,” the president said.
Zelensky noted that all wars end someday. The issue is how long they last and how many lives they take.
“Of course, the war continues only in 3% of our territory; however, we need the support of the West anyway. The war in Donbas destabilizes the situation in the whole continent. It is the losses for the economy and human capital,” he added.
As we reported, since the beginning of the year, 18 civilians, including a child, died in Donbas.
From January until July 31, 2020, ten men, seven women and a child are among the deceased. Besides, 89 civilians sustained injuries due to the combat actions: 49 men, 30 women, six girls and four boys.
