According to the military official, the current activity of pro-Kremlin militants points out to the fact that Russia is committed to keeping Ukraine under pressure and at the same time to making the West to comply with the Minsk agreements under the Kremlin’s conditions.

‘Russia’s trying to push through local elections in Donbas, negotiations with militants and changes to Ukrainian constitution foreseeing the ‘special status’ for the occupied territories. Russia does not plan any large-scale offensives now, but there will be more provocations. They will be escalating the situation but then they’ll retreat again’, Ukraine’s army general Mykola Malomuzh said in interview with 112 Ukraine TV channel.
